Cow Sh*t to Clean Water
Over 1.1 billion people in the world don’t have access to clean drinking water. When I heard of a nanotech water purifier that can be used to purify water from even fecal matter contaminated sources, I couldn’t help but test it out the “uncultured” way.
Thanks for getting this on the Digg.com Frontpage everyone! Hope this spreads the word about my project…
The “Uncultured Project” is just a funny name for the journey I’ve started. It’s not a charity, organization, or anything formal like that. I’m just a guy who liquidated his life savings, bought a camera, and went abroad to try and help the poorest of the poor. For more, info check out:

If you would like to fund this project, which is just something I am doing as an individual, please check my donation page at:

Unless you give me written permission, your donation will NOT be used for personal expenses, equipment, airfare, or anything like that.
This isn’t a paid endorsement of LifeStraw Family. Vestergaard Frandsen (the manufacturers of LifeStraw Family) helped me come to Kenya but I was under no obligation to endorse them or their products. For more information about the LifeStraw Family, check out:
http://lifestraw.com
The LifeStraw Family uses nanotechnology (called hollow tubes) to filter water down to 25 nanometers and meets US EPA guidelines as a microbiological water purifier. They claim that one LifeStraw Family can purify enough water for a family of five for up to three years.
For those asking for tech info, here are the results from a study by the University of Arizona:

Fellow human, the Illuminati are bluebloods such as Rothschilds, Windsors, Al Gore & Pike etc who rule secret societies including Freemasonry. They’ll probably force-vaccinate many with toxic crap in Fall, start WW3, implement Codex Alimentarius & internet 2 then stage an alien invasion to get a fascist world government with you chipped. Support Oracle Broadcasting, Project Camelot, Dr. Deagle and Stewart Swerdlow!

Let me put it this …
Let me put it this way. This company gave me a free one of these to try and use for myself here in Bangladesh. I stopped boiling my water because of it. This filter is a nano-tech filter. That is it uses nano-tubes to filter water down to 25 NANOMETERS - that’s smaller than any virus. Viruses can’t get through - it’s more effective than boiling and safer than chlorine.
Does the filter …
Does the filter really catch the viruses? I thought they were way too small to be filtered effectively. I would prefer to boil first or sterilise with chlorine to make sure. I suppose it’s better than drinking straight from the river anyway. Good work guys, all the best.

You don’t know how badly I wish an engineer was traveling with me. Could get so much more done!
Sorry to wade in, …
Sorry to wade in, but as a trained civil engineer with extensive training in geology and some in geography, I can say with some authority that Shawn is right.
A few things: you need to dig the well to a much lower water table (the one grnt25 suggested would be no different from taking the water straight from the river), where it is much purer.
One of the things I’ve always wanted to do as a civil engineer is go to the 3rd world and build (proper) wells. Keep up the good work, Shawn!
