My Bloodhound puppy is 9 months old. Almost every time he drinks water he throws it back up.?
When he throws up it is only water and slime and the occasional kibble. he is on good dog food DIAMOND CHICKEN AND RICE NATURALS, we do have well water (this is a new switch from our rural water). I herd of BLAP DISEASE, but don’t know what it is or how i can cure it. he has a raised water dish but he is about 2 foot tall and the dish is about 1 foot tall. Should i try a Water Bottle?
I raise bloodhounds, and I can tell you that this is not a common problem with them, at all.
As you have stated, you raise the dishes.. and that is the best you can do for him at that point.
But he DOES need to see a vet.
This is not normal behaviour.
If he is drink too fast, or eating too fast, then you need to give him water in very small quantities, and allow NO excersize after he has eaten.
As I am sure you know, a common problem with them is bloat, and eliminating ANY exercise after they have eaten/drank will reduce problems along those lines.
But vomitting food and water is not normal.
Take him to the vet.
If you have any more questions about bloodhounds, feel free to email me and I’d be very happy to help.

He is either drinking to fast or sick.
Put something in the water dish so he has to drink around it. If that doesn’t help I would suggest taking him to the vet.

It’s the water change. He will get used to it. Soak his kibble too.
