Looking up.
When you flush your toilet, it reroutes to your shower and sink, so to not to waste your holy shit and urine.
Just kidding, it mostly comes from the same source as any other waters, a reservoir, or a well

Have you ever driven down a road and saw a big white or blue tower with kind of a dome on top?
If so, that is where it comes from. They are called water towers.

check that out! hope it answered your question.
Rain
If in a rural area its coming from rain then gets soaked up in the ground from there a pipes is connect from your house to a well underground somewhere
(note sometimes it can be a spring instead of a well a spring is a place where water comes out from a opening Its a spot where you can see water shorting out the ground; a well is where a human digs a opening)
If in a urban area (city or anywhere with a large population) its goes from rain to either in a lake, a spring that becomes a river, ocean, dam storm drain/sewer or a combination of the 5 from there its sent to a plant of some kind where its treated and from there sent through pipes going everywhere in a urban area
