How do you get rid of the sulfur smell of well water?
We have a farmhouse in rural WI. We put in a water filter and softener, but the smell is still there. I’m sure other people have encountered this problem. Please give me advice on what’s worked for you. Thanks!
An activated carbon filter should do the trick.
Alternately, if you are concerned about water for cooking and drinking consider installing a reverse osmosis filter.
The filtration system should take it away i would suggest that you check the type of filters that you have bought and upgrade to a more expensive filter system.

if you have bladder tank, change to a metal tank that has no bladder. the bladder holds the smell in. if you let your water set in a jug the smell will go away

Did you ever have good water? If the water table has changed or something drastic like that. You may need to drill a new well away from your existing well. You will need to find out about your land. Where the water is flowing underground and what direction. Tree roots can also cause this. Remove roots from the well and it may help.

An activated Charcoal filter might work, but you would have to change it often.
If you are going to drink it, boil it, then chill it down for drinking.
