You are absolutely ...
You are absolutely right, we employ beneficial bacteria,in order to consume or convert ammonia and nitrite in to a beneficial product. We tend to overpopulate our isolated ponds. in most ponds water quality can be controlled by constant water change much like a stream or pond in nature. We incorporate biological and mechanical filtration to maintain quality as well as clarity. Some plants can benefit from conversion performed by the bio filtration. We work with natural processes. Just my opinion.

cant nature/plants ...
cant nature/plants help purify the water? i thought nature does all the work? think back a long time ago in China & Japan. What did they use to keep the water in good quality? Did they use pnemonia killing products? i'm just curious. Like the ocean, the waves come up to the shore, and then it washes back, its filtering the water? Nature should do it right?
