IRON MAN WINDMILLS - PROVIDING ABUNDENT WATER FOR FARMERS

Posted on September 15th, 2009 by admin in water rural | No Comments »

Iron Man Windmills are used to provide water for agricultural and village water supply in China. These large and powerful windmills start pumping in very low wind speeds of 3 to 5mph, as are commonly found across China. They are being used to lift water 500M, but have the power to pump to much higher elevations if needed. Iron man windmills are being used to pump water to a village 17km from the source and can operate the largest windmill pumps made — 1M in diameter. These proven, time-tested windmills are frequently installed at rural locations far beyond the ends of roads and can be completely erected without the use of cranes or any other special tools or machinery.

Iron Man Windmills use cost effective, proven technology for providing an abundant water supply with innovative pumping technology developed and manufactured exclusively by Iron Man Windmill Co. Our advanced pumping technology provides a balanced pumping load allowing operation in extremely low wind speeds, while providing abundant water. Iron Man Windmills can pump from any source, including wells of any diameter and to extreme depths, lakes, ponds, rivers, tanks, canals and any other source of water.

The water pumped is used for agricultural and domestic water supply in rural communities where skilled workers and access to support equipment, such as cranes, rarely exists. Iron Man Windmills require virtually no maintenance other than a change of gearbox oil annually. They use no electricity, fuel oil or any non renewable resource and eliminate the need for expensive and polluting sources of energy. It has taken Iron Man Windmill Co. years of dedicated and committed work to provide the appropriate education to encourage the use of American wind power pumping technology. We have pioneered the ways to get our windmills in use in rural areas where the logistics and political situation is typically slow and difficult to work with. This is not a job for amateurs.

This video shows Iron Man Windmills in use and provides a glimpse of life in rural China’s farm villages, where these large windmills are usually used. Iron Man Windmill Co. is the first company to introduce the traditional American windmill in China, where the success of our installations is contributing greatly to our growth. Thank you for your interest and taking the time to learn more about our work!

“It is in our interest to work harder to build on areas of common concern and shared opportunities,” said Clinton. - Asia Society

Research From Dr. Masaru Emoto, says that human thoughts are directed at water before it is frozen, images of the resulting water crystals will be beautiful or ugly depending upon whether the thoughts were positive or negative. Emoto claims this can be achieved through prayer, music or by attaching written words to a container of water. Since 1999 Emoto has published several volumes of a work titled Messages from Water, which contains photographs of water crystals next to essays and “words of intent”.

http://www.mum.edu/sustainable_living/ Sustainable Living students at Maharishi University build a wind generator from scratch. The design was largely based on the axial-flux design found on www.otherpower.com Some other helpful sites are www.windstuffnow.com and http://www.scoraigwind.com/.

Maharishi University of Management (MUM) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the arts, sciences, business, and humanities. The University is accredited through the doctoral level by the Higher Learning Commission.

Founded in 1971 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the University features Consciousness-Based education to develop students’ inner potential. All students and faculty practice the Transcendental Meditation technique, which extensive published research has found boosts learning ability, improves brain functioning, and reduces stress.

Maharishi University uses the block system in which each student takes one course at a time students report they learn more without the stress of taking 4-5 courses at once.

The University has a strong focus on sustainability and natural health, and serves organic vegetarian meals. The B.S. in Sustainable Living is MUM’s most popular undergraduate major.

PERMACULTURE & PEAK OIL: Beyond ‘Sustainability’

Posted on August 10th, 2009 by admin in sustainability | 25 Comments »

David Holmgren is co-originator (with Bill Mollison) of the permaculture concept and author of the recent book, PERMACULTURE: Principles and Pathways Beyond Sustainability. He talks about the need to move beyond the lulling hope that ‘green tech’ breakthroughs will allow world-wide ’sustainable consumption’ to the recognition that dwindling oil supplies inevitably mean a mandatory ‘energy descent’ for human civilization across the planet. He argues that permaculture principles provide the best guide to a peaceful societal ‘powering down.”
