What would you do to improve sustainability and what is the key to global citizenship?

The theme of the topic is - Sustainability: The Key to Global Citizenship

Please tell me about your opinion on the matter that includes:

• An understanding of how international education fosters global responsibility and citizenship—creating a sustainable future
• Knowledge of key 21st Century issues of sustainability and the role of international education in addressing those issues
• An awareness of the complexity surrounding world sustainability issues
• An analytical approach to the subject matter
• Examples of critical as well as creative thinking

the premise is that you can know everything you need to know about sustaining resources in the present timeframe with present technology. but you can’t. thus the premise is flawed.

for example, in the 70’s the Club of Rome released a report that said there was a coming crisis that would cause oil to run out. but as we have found in the intervening years, the oils companies have found ever more clever ways to extract oil. In addition, the invisible hand moves when prices rise. Check out what happened in Alberta [tar sands were only discovered in the 80's by a 'new' technology to use sonar to find oil] Then in 2007, the tar sands began to become economic to extract, thereby enabling 30% of world supply to become available at the new higher price.
