The talks were suspended by Beijing last year after U.S. arms sales to Taiwan.

Or the water in India. Conserving the environment is not always top on their lists as they strive towards economic success.

I’m very glad to hear the US Secretary of State mention the importance of sustainability of environment. Having lived in the UK and Spain for sometime I was very impressed by the general attitude towards conserving the environment. Everyone seems to be very conscientious about recycling and the govt provides education and adequate resources for encouraging such behaviour. The micro creates the macro and I hope sustainability becomes a global byword soon.
