We can not stop drug trafficking / use.....how are we going to stop other countries from using children as pawns in war. SECOND The previous poster suggested direct intervention .... I would point outthat historically whenever we intervened in the internal affairs of other countries no matter how good our intentions....it not only cost us the lives of our young soldiers.... not only cost us massive amounts of money.... not only cost us friends and support around the world.... Such as buying a diamond ring. As child soldiers are forced to fight and kill buy an army that is funded through the diamond trade then it's up to the individual to boycott diamonds and then at least in one way they're not supporting the army that produces child soldiers.
