Surely you can measure the amount of beef on a person’s plate, and reducing that amount is as achievable as individual choice.

I agree that poaching also need to be addressed, but this involves issues of poverty, economic injustice, ignorance, cultural indifference, greed, and political corruption, all of which are tough to SMARTly quantify.

It can be combatted by hiring some of the potential poachers to patrol the animals' habitat and shoot or capture the poachers.
