how do you say environmental sustainability in french?

As in the context of this sentence

Japan is the leader in environmental sustainability in the world.

Environmental sustainability in the sense that they develop without destroying earth’s resources.

I think it is "la viabilité environnemental" but I don’t think that’s right. =( please help

Depending on your context you’d use one of two phrases. Usually you’d use "durabilité environnementale" but it could also be "protection de l’environnement".
