Set a good example and resign from your position as teacher.
You’re using your position as a platform for activism and political propaganda, and you should be ashamed.
Teach them the subject matter you’re in charge of, and drop the fear mongering.

Show them in graphic details what could happen to the world if the enviromental problem persists. Then show them how they can help prevent that from happening in small ways.

I appreciate your question. I think you have to practice what you preach. Let them know what you are doing to live within your means. I just got an electric bike and I use it for my daily commuting. It’s pretty cool, I’m saving money on gas, getting extra exercise, and reducing my carbon footprint which goes hand in hand with sustainability. I got it from http://www.premiumelectricbikes.com. Another idea is giving extra credit if they are able to get their families to reduce their electric bills.

just teach what you need to teach and hope for the best…unfortunately it’s completely up to your students if they think that they need to protect the environment. It’s their choice..just lead them in the environmental direction.

One of the major environmental concerns is the growing shortage of fresh water in many parts of the world. It’s very important that we all make a conscious effort to save water however we can. Why don’t you encourage your students to arrange for a ‘Save Water’ drive? Water Conservation is a very simple process. It’s inexpensive too. Here are some tips that I can share with you on how to conserve water at home and school: http://www.bewaterwise.com/tips01.html . Since conserving water is a hassle free process your students might take up the initiative. Also, it’s very important that you explain to them the importance of the activity.
