Why is the WTO not doing this?

With trade deficits, deficit spending, and failing credit markets the current level of imports is no longer globally sustainable but free trade in raw material markets is critical to the heart of global production. Given the fact of shared liquidity it seems to be in the mutual interest of shared sustainability that the WTO make [...]

What is the United States main road block for progress towards sustainability today?

Would it be the governments fault, a lack of concern, greed, international competition, population growth or maybe something else?
Any suggestions would help.
There are several, but the main ones are:
1. Cost. Sustainability in general costs money. Even when you hear about savings, most are 10-40 YEARS down the road, so you have to spend [...]

In water conservation, chemists spread a thin film of certain inert material over the surface of water to…?

cut down the evaporation rate in reservoirs. This technique was pioneered by Benjamin Franklin three centuries ago. A volume of 0.10 mL of oil could spread over a surface area of 40.25 m^ 2. Assuming that the oil forms a monolayer; that is, a layer of one molecule thick, estimate the length of each [...]

How do you drip water from a plastic bottle a drop at a time?

I intend to go overseas for about 2 weeks. How will my indoor plants survive while I’m away.
I am using plastic bottles filled with water to drip slowly. The problem is the water does not flow at all with one hole punctured. With another hole punctured at the top of the container the water just [...]

any ideas re building sustainable swimming hole rural property solar power, filtering water with reeds etc?

Not knowing how big the property is, the only suggestion is the solar and wind power is a great addition to any rural property. The thermosipon solar hot water system would be ideal. No pumps, or electricity required. A wind generator would be good at night or day. Some solar [...]
